TOMS 5-post #1

Throughout the first fifteen chapters of Fired Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe Dot Weems seems to be the most important character. Dot Weems is the reporter through which most of the story is being told, so without her there would be no story told. She tells us the story through a reporter's point of view; thus adding an element of "inside knowledge" that none of the other characters in the book so far have offered. Dot Weems also tells us something about almost every character in the book each time she writes a column. With every column Dot tells us about the deals going on at Issie Threadgoode's restaurant, she mentions the meoteorite found and almost every other piece of news in the small town. This far in the book Dot Weems has offered the most information and the most insight so i feel that she is, so far, the most important character.
